Meet the Artist
Marvin, why do you make art?
Art for me is part of my life. It is a basic need, just like breathing or drinking water.
It is a daily, almost routine, activity of imagining and creating realities that collide and merge, transform and achieve the objective of expressing my ideas. This activity flows naturally, regardless of the medium (or material) I'm working on, it's as if they jump out of my mind and take on a life of their own.
How did you find out about NFT & what made you decide to deal with it and create NFTs yourself?
Well, I've been a self-taught visual artist for a long time, but because of the exhausting routine I had in my old job (I worked for 20 years in a public bank), I wasn't painting, I was already missing it.
In 2020 came the pandemic, and with it social distancing. Despite all the sadness of the illness, it was wonderful to have free time to return to my artistic activities and to be able to reevaluate my life in this perspective of being away from an activity that is pleasurable to me.
I returned to painting and producing many paintings that were accumulating, which soon led me to seek virtual galleries to exhibit and sell them. That's when some acquaintances in the field introduced me to NFT's and marketplaces (this was in September 2020), which for me was as if a new universe was being discovered.
With NFT's I was able to try new techniques, discover new means of expression and take care of each stage of the artwork produced, without the need for an art dealer to price or select my work.
What personal info do you want the audiences to know about you?
I'm 53 years old Brazilian, from Rio de Janeiro. Self-taught artist in painting and currently specializing in digital art. I produce NFT's in almost all major marketplaces, on different networks (Ethereum, Solana, Tezos...) and with styles ranging from illustration, through A.I Art to animation.
MarVin, where can we find you?
