Meet the Artist
Grace Anata, why do you make art?
There are countless reasons that motivate the creation of art, but I use an art of photography for express, communicate, tell a story, capture a moment, and most of all is for therapeutic healing since 8 years ago.
How did you find out about NFT & what made you decide to deal with it and create NFTs yourself?
In October 2021, when the pandemic was still affecting us all, one of our friends in the photography community set up an account together, as embossing was quite expensive for us at the time, we raised the money to emboss our first ones common collection at Opensea and at that time also at HEN. After that, the works were sold little by little, even the price we offered at 1/1 at the time was very low, but it could help every artist to open their own account, including me. I can afford to emboss on my own Opensea, Objkt and Foundation. Even my work at Foundation hasn't been sold yet. But the OS and Object sales help me a lot in the fight because my 10-year child-rearing business collapsed because of the pandemic. NFT is also helping my new business as a photo book publisher in Indonesia.
What personal info do you want the audiences to know about you?
I'm an artist and full-time photographer from Indonesia who makes art with a lot of heart. I have been an educator for over 20 years and have published a number of photo books IRL. Web3 is a new world for me and a way for me to reach and learn with many artists from all over the world. Trust me: all sales of NFTs I have not only returned to the Web3 community because I really helped so much of NFT, but also in the IRL in Indonesia. We have a photo community that helps many photographers with our free course, we have a mobile photo library that shares our collections with everyone for free because we know that photo books are expensive and not many people in Indonesia can afford them to buy. And many other training courses in photography that we offer.
