"I shoot the ever changing life, into a permanent still life."
Meet the Artist
Boxio3, why do you make art?
I was always trying to steal my grandparent's camera to take some photos as a kid. They had a super simple and cheap point and shoot, but I remember just being drawn to it, before I even knew what art or photography was. I don't really have any artists in my family, nor am I surrounded by artist friends IRL but it just somehow drew me in. I moved countries when I was fairly young, I didn't speak the new language and I didn't have any friends in my new school. It was a really rough patch for me and photography was my escape. I'd come home and just take photos, mostly self-portraits. And it's still the same way now, I actually gave up on photography for a while, and on making art in general. But in the last three years or so I tried it out again, and I got a new film camera and it still is the same feeling. Photography lets me escape my reality, and lets me tell my story with images, because my feelings are often too difficult to put into words. As cliche as it is, my photography is my therapy.
How did you find out about NFT and what made you decide to deal with it and create NFTs yourself?
Actually I just heard about it on a podcast I was listening to, they were talking about the new way for artists to make money. I was sceptical, as always. I think NFTs and crypto in general still has many issues, and I am still sceptical but I can see the beauty of it more now. Before I started minting my own work, I was just observing my friends doing it, and looking at what is happening in the crypto world. I started minting my own work as I thought it'll be worth the experiment. At that point I already knew a fair amount about how it works, and what I need to do. I don't think I never decided to make NFTs. I just make art, and the art that I want to share with others ends up on the blockchain. I have to say it keeps me motivated to keep creating too, makes me want to keep going which is great.
What personal info do you want the audiences to know about you?
